Whistleblower claims UC Santa Cruz cheated donors, then fired her for exposing it

A lawsuit against UC Santa Cruz involves allegations of mismanagement of donor gifts and retaliation. A former employee, accused UCSC executives and a consultant of prioritizing short-term donations over larger deferred gifts, possibly for personal gain.

After raising concerns about this practice and the consultant’s pressure on donors, the employee was fired. Her attorney, Navruz Avloni of Avloni Law, argues that this termination was illegal retaliation for her whistleblower actions. The former employee is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit.
